Excellent guitar with a beautiful finish

After many years, I was looking to replace an older guitar. One that had been refretted twice, and rather than a third time, I thought I was ready for a new (extra) guitar. I looked at all kinds of instruments, and read a ton of reviews. One consideration was color, since, I had always wanted a blue guitar, though that was a secondary thought. I still wanted a quality and well sounding guitar.

Eventually I settled on this one by Luna. I am very pleased with it. The sound is bright, consistant, the fret board easy to play. The finish is absolutely fantastic. I was worried there might be some blemishes or uneveness to the instrument's finish and construction (blue can make any unpleasant nick or scratch stand out), but I looked it over carefully from top to bottom, it's perfect. Amazing craftsmanship.

The keys are high quality, as is every other component part. The built in tuner is a big plus. The electronics work with no problems, and the sound is consistant with good tone, even when plugged into an amp (I used a small Fender).

The (stock) strings are heavy, but I plan to change those over my favorite light strings. No big deal there.

Overall this is a great instrument, well worth the price. For those interested, Luna guitars is in Tampa, Florida, and is a women owned and operated company. I find the the finish as insprirational, and if your're going to have an instrument, why not get one that looks great?

Packaging makes it easy to view finish

Because the guitar is packaged so you can view the grain/finish of the top you can select the one that appeals to you. the construction of mine was flawless. Also the set-up was excellent. keep in mind that changes in weather, etc. May require a slight adjustment of the neck with the allen wrench. Even expensive guitars need to have the neck adjusted and set-up done correctly (string height above the first and second frett bar, etc.)
Again even expensive guitars have to have the nut filed properly for the guage of strings selected and the height of the nut. The saddle height in the bridge is important also. If you don't know how to check/measure it have a luthier do it - not all guitar shops have an employee who is skilled at this. The internet and You-tube have videos that explain what to look for and how to check it. I have had no problem with my guitar after six months and sounds great. One reviewer said he had some buzzing - one of the frett bars may need filed or fully inserted into the frett board or the neck may need a slight adjustment. The construction on lower priced guitars is comparable to the quality on higher priced guitars when coming from manufacturers with good reputations (have built guitars for a while and have experienced craftsmen) So the real difference in sound and appearance is the design & selection of materials. For the money First Act's 222 is comparable with Jasmine S35 and Esteban's Gift of Music. First Act includes an uptodate saddle and an excellent bridge that is securely adhered. Some guitar shops sell an Indiana Scout at twice the price and the three guitars I mentioned are a better value for a beginner/novice or enthusiat on a budget. I am pleased with appearance, sound, construction, and price I paid for my First Act. If you get one with a flaw simply exchange it at Target for another one.

I bought this guitar about 5 months ago. On the plus side, it's inexpensive and a nice looking acoustic guitar. On the minus side, there's a lot of fret (string) buzzing which detracts from the sound. I'd recommend it as a starter instrument, but it's not something I'd play gigs with.

Wow!! what a bad guitar bought this one at the store in december for my daughter and by february i already had to take it to get fixed up, at the repair shop the guy showed my husband and me why the guitar was so cheap and bad it wasn't even worth it, it's badly constructed and from day one pieces of wood were coming out of it. DON'T BUY IT!!

I was so pleased with this guitar. It was my first acoustic guitar, but I am glad that I purchased this guitar. There was nothing wrong with the guitar- and for the price, it is absolutely worth it. It can be thrown (not literaly) around, and there is hardly a scratch. It was easy for me to play, and I plan on buying future guitars from Austin Bazaar. Only one bad thing- I received a red pick.
